Optimizing performance by working with the flow
Wastewater from residential developments flows at a variable rate throughout the week. Typically, peak flow rates occur in the mornings, late afternoons and evenings, when people leave or return from work, school, etc. Large wastewater treatment plants must be designed to handle peak flows and periods of low flow.
The Tricel Maxus is ideal in such cases, as it evens out the flow in its buffer tank. Based on the actual flow, the floats signal to the control panel and the air blower ramp up or down, saving on the pump and air blower running costs while increasing lifespan.
Adaptable technology for different loads or effluent strengths
We design our modular system to cater for all treatment requirements. We can also work with a high or low BOD load, e-coli, ammonia, nitrogen or phosphorus requirements. Tricel can provide the solution for your residential development based on your needs and where you will discharge the effluent by adding more treatment zones (biological treatment zone (3 below) and clarifier (4 below).

Planning for the future and accommodating potential growth.
Our Tricel Maxus wastewater treatment plants are modular, allowing them to be installed in phases according to the development’s needs.
As an example, the settlement tank (1 above) and buffer tank (2 above) can be sized for the maximum capacity of the residential development, or housing estate, while the biological treatment zone (3 above) and clarifier (4 above) can be installed to meet phase 1 of the development needs. Additional biological treatment zone and clarifiers would be installed only when needed, at a later stage, once the development has grown.
Tricel Maxus – Large Wastewater Treatment plants
- The Tricel Maxus operates on Submerged Aerated Filter (SAF) technology with GRP or concrete settlement tank options.
- Electrical components are connected to the E-III control panel through which the plant is controlled.
- Multi-configurations suit any site, and the system is robust and easy to install.
- As well as being simple to operate, these products are easy to maintain over their lifetimes.

PE represents the initials of Population Equivalent. Tricel Novo & Vitae
Both are wastewater treament plant solutions manufactured by Tricel. Wastewater treatment plants offer a superior quality of treatment. For example, the Tricel Novo comprises of three independent wastewater treatment zones and offers an average of efficiency of 95.9% BOD removal.
This is a higher treatment standard than the effluent from a septic tank. Please note: all wastewater treatment plants used in Ireland must comply with the EN12566-3 standard and all septic tanks must comply with the EN12566-1 standard..
Tricel Vento
The septic tank from Tricel is manufactured as a primary treatment. Designed for the settlement of your effluent. This product may need an additional treatment like the Sandcel or Puraflo.

WHAT IS THE QUALITY OF THE WASTEWATER PRODUCED?
The required standards are 20:30:20 BOD, SS, NH4. All Tricel produces exceed the requirements when tested to En12566-3 and comply with SR66.
